Apartment Review for Normandy Apartments - Anaheim, CA

We've been here for nearly two years and we hate it. Cops are routinely on this street, maintenace is when they have time and doesn't accomplish anything. Even when the bring in professionals, it doesn't get fixed. Garders are hear weekly, which is great for downstairs, but upstairs, the walkway is rarely pressure washed. Lighting routinely goes out and takes a week or two to be fixed. No handicap access for upstairs (which was a big problem when I got into an accident and wound up in a wheelchair for 9 months). There is no storage like advertised because the "storage units" available are wood cabinets over your parking spot and the wood is rotting and doesn't stay closed or locked. Single pane windows that allow EVERY noise in, old oven that sets off the smoke detector every time it's turned on, gas stove that doesn't turn completely off and is therefore hot to the touch, heater that heats the area directly in front of it, air conditioning in limited apartments (not ours), rent raised all the time, pools not heated, mail boxes not completely covered and mail gets wet when it rains, cabinet hinges were painted over instead of taken off and now the cabinets don't close all the way, old appliances, thin walls. Management is hardly EVER in the office and takes DAYS to get back to you about things. "Security" spends more time telling my neighbor and I to be quiet as we talk on the walkway (and we're not loud because our neighbors, who we're friends with, don't tell us to quiet down), talking on his cell phone, or talking to the hoodlums (yes, I said hoodlums and you would too if you saw them) who hang out in front of the complex than patrolling the complex. I could go on (which is amazing based on what I've already written) but I'm sure you get the point. Don't move here unless you can take this kind of crap.
