THE ONSIGHT MANAGER AT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX TRIED TO EVICT A TENANT BECAUSE THE LADY CALLED THE MANAGER AN EXPLETIVE NAME WHEN SHE TRIED TO BULLY HER BUT THE LADY HAD ALREADY FOUND A PLACE TO MOVE. WHEN I STARTED SPEAKING TO OTHER TENANTS ABOUT THE PROBLEMS THEY WERE HAVING WITH THIS MANAGER, SHE STARTED FINDING PROBLEMS WITH US. ANOTHER TENANTS SMALL DAUGHTER GOT SICK FROM WATER LEAKING THRU THE CEILING FROM BATHROOM IN APT. UPSTAIRS THAT LEAKED THRU TO HER BATH TUB WATER AND THERE WAS MOLD IN THE BATHROOM UNDER SINK CABINETS. MY HUSBAND TRIED TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH JANET - THE MANAGER - FOR A LATE RENTAL PAYMENT WHICH SHE DID FOR OTHER TENANTS - BUT SHE WOULDN'T FOR US. SHE STARTED EVICTION PAPERS WITH THEIR LAWYER BUT WE ENDED UP MAKING ARRANGEMENTS WITH HER & PAID HER AND SHE PROMISED TO STOP THE PROCEEDINGS THE NEXT MORNING BUT WAS DELAYED IN CONTACTING THE LAWYER SO HE FILED THE PAPERWORK AND WE WERE EVICTED, EVEN TRIED GOING TO FAIR HOUSING...FOR DISCRIMINATION... THEN I DISCOVERED CALTENANTLAW.COM AND LOOKED INTO WHAT RECOURSE WE MIGHT HAVE...I FOUND OUT THRU RESEARCH THAT THE PROPERTY OWNER HAD NOT RENEWED THEIR FICTITIOUS BUSINESS NAME (DBA) PERMIT/LICENSE? IN APRIL BEFORE THEY EVICTED US AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IF THEY DIDN'T HAVE THAT CURRENT THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED TO COLLECT RENT AND EVICTION PROCEEDINGS WERE NULL AND VOID...ANY LEGAL HELP OUT THERE THAT WOULD LIKE TO REPRESENT ME!? I HAVE BEEN HOMELESS MOST OF THE TIME SINCE THEN, AND LOST ALMOST EVERYTHING I OWN BECAUSE I TRUSTED THE MANAGER TO STOP THE EVICTION PROCESS BRIGHT AND EARLY IN THE MORNING BUT SHE WAS A TEACHER AT THE TIME AND I WAS STUPID NOT TO GET IT IN WRITING BUT I THINK THE PROPERTY OWNER AND HER SHE BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR OPERATING ILLEGALLY, AND I VERIFIED THE FICTITIOUS NAME ALLEGATION THRU THE COUNTY CLERK? ONLINE!!! EVEN HAD A PRINTED COPY FOR PROOF BUT LOST IT WHEN MY STORAGE LOCKER WAS SOLD!!! ALSO SHE AGREED TO LET US KEEP SOME STUFF IN THE GARAGE WE HAD TIL WE COULD COME BACK A FEW DAYS LATER BUT WHEN WE CAME BACK SHE HAD PUT HER LOCK ON THE GARAGE AND WAS UNAVAILABLE TO UNLOCK IT SO WE COULD GET THE REST OF OUR PROPERTY SO SHE HAD A COUPLE OF GUYS GO TO THE STORAGE FACILITY ACROSS THE STREET AND THEY RENTED HER A LOCKER TO PUT ALL OUR STUFF INTO AND SHE MOVED IT WITH THE STORAGE LOCKERS FREE TRUCK THEY HAD FOR NEW CUSTOMERS AND THEN JANET TRIED TO CHARGE US LIKE $100.00 FOR THE TRUCK WHEN WE PAID HER THE COSTS SHE HAD INCURRED TO GET THE KEY FOR THE STORAGE!! SHE ALSO DID NOT RETURN ANY OF OUR DEPOSIT OR GIVE US A STMT. OF WHAT IT WAS USED FOR AS WE HAD FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN 3 APARTMENTS STILL THERE AFTER WE MOVED THAT SHE WAS HOLDING OUR MAIL AND THEN GIVING TO THEM A MONTH OR SO LATER SO MY HUSBAND MISSED A TRAFFIC COURT DATE! GET ANYTHING IN WRITING FROM JANET OR RECORD YOUR CONVERSATIONS!!! |
